A dog’s bark may be worse than his bite, but most of us would rather not find out one way or the other. Growling, baring teeth, snarling, snapping, and biting are all aggressive behaviors (dog aggression includes any behavior meant to intimidate or harm a person or another animal). Although these messages are among the normal handful of communication tools available to dogs, they’re unacceptable to humans. Because humans and dogs have different communication systems, misunderstandings can occur between the two species.

From a dog’s perspective, there’s always a reason for this "aggressive" behavior. A person may intend to be friendly, but a dog may perceive that person’s behavior as threatening or dominating. Dogs aren’t necessarily being crazy, unrealistic, or vicious when displaying aggressive behavior. They have very real reasons for acting out the way they do.
Because aggression is so complex, and because the potential consequences are so serious, A professional is always highly recommended to work with you and your dog.

That is where I come in.

How The Process Works

Upon calling me to ask for my help I will set up an evaluation with you to observe the dog and the behavior you are having trouble dealing with. I will take a thorough history of your dogs development, diet, exercise, daily routine, and behaviors. I will then set up a plan for how to deal with the dogs behavior and we can begin behavior modification sessions. I will use my core training method to help rehabilitate your dog with pack leadership training and obedience to control the dogs body. With behavior issues, sessions usually last an hour. I work in your home regularly to teach you how to modify the behavior and demonstrate exactly how to do it.

Throughout my time working with the dog I will constantly explain to you the dogs behavior, why the dog is doing what it is, and exactly what you must do to stop this behavior.

Curbing and eliminating an unwanted behavior in a dog can differ depending on the dog, even if the behavior is the same. I never recommend you recommend the methods for your individual dog to anyone else with similar issues. Tell them to consult a professional.

Prices can vary and are subject to change. Amount of sessions to resolve behaviors can also vary depending on the behaviors, how much you work with your dog, how consistent you are etc.

Helpful tip!

Today it is uncommon to find someone without a "smart phone". If you have access to a smart phone, or have a video camera, take as many videos of the concerning behaviors as possible. I can obsereve these during the evaluation and sessions which can help me tremendously.
